After working both soul-sucking office jobs and okay jobs where everyone hated the work but loved the people, we knew we wanted to build a company everyone loved. Riding inspiration and passion isn’t enough, though. We needed practical sales skills to make our dream a reality. Ecommerce is a risky business, and our rise to the top was not without some major struggles. But there were great people who stuck with us and who helped us out. It turns out that working with a good heart meant something. Every time we tried to do the right thing, things went right.
We learned that the best strategy is responding to what customers want, especially when no one else is doing it, so we put that front and center as we designed new cases. We learned that taking care of people and growing together is the most important thing, so we built a company culture that provides for employees and helps them become more independent. The result is incredibly rewarding.
In the design lab, we spend a lot of time poring over customer feedback, researching new ideas, and brainstorming. We love the process, pulling inspiration from random stuff we see throughout the day and brainstorming new designs, iterating on designs we know are popular, and experimenting with using the same materials in new ways. Texture is one of our favorite components to play with because it adds so much detail and personality.
As fun as it is, there’s also a lot of serious consideration that goes into our designs. We have to work closely with our sales and customer support departments so we know what’s going on with customers, and we have to check with the manufacturer to make sure our dreams are feasible. We're all about perfecting the details, so every piece of the process demands our full attention.
It's important to us that our factories demonstrate strong ethics and provide a good work environment for its employees. It's also important that our manufacturers deliver high quality products on time. We interviewed, inspected, and worked with several manufacturers before we formed our current partnership. With the help of our manufacturer, we're able to stay ahead of schedule and meet stringent quality control standards.
