Go (RED) with the iPhone

By Elizabeth Waschak on

Last month, a gorgeous new red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus appeared in the tech world. In addition to being absolutely beautiful, this special edition phone is the latest (Product)RED item produced by Apple.

Apple is the world’s largest corporate donor to the The Global Fund and has contributed more than $130 million during its ten-year partnership with (RED). Each purchase of the Special Edition (Product)RED iPhone 7 or 7 Plus will contribute to live-saving HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa, which contains more than two thirds of the world’s HIV-positive population.

Founded in 2006, (RED) has generated more than $465 million for the Global Fund, an organization dedicated to ending AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria as epidemics. Every dollar raised by (RED) goes towards assisting communities with HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, counseling, and treatment programs. They also focus on eliminating the transmission of HIV/AIDS from mothers to babies.

(RED) is dedicated to being the generation that delivers an AIDS-free generation. By partnering with manufacturers to created (RED) products, they make it easy for people to contribute to the fund while shopping. And it helps raise awareness, too—nothing catches the eye like a brilliant red phone!

As soon as we saw the new iPhone, the designers here at Caseology started on red versions of our favorite cases. While we aren’t a (RED) partner, we’re big fans of what they’re doing. If you buy a red iPhone and you still want your favorite Caseology case, we want to make sure it matches.

In fact, if you’re looking to buy a new iPhone, we hope you’ll consider the red one. It’s got all the same specs as the ordinary colors—advanced camera systems, a crisp and saturated display, significant battery life, water resistance, and Siri—but it’s part of something bigger than smartphones or Silicon Valley or personal technology. You can have a top-of-the-line smartphone and support a global fight against a terrible disease at the same time. That’s something we can get behind, and we hope you can too.
